Living with Lineolated Parakeets

Jupiter, the lineolated parakeet, arrived in my home on September 6, 2006. I never dreamed this little 53 gram green bird would take over my home! He even "bosses" Liberty, my cockatiel, around. This is the story of my life with Jupiter. These are also called "linnies" or "barred parakeets" in the various email groups and on websites. Since this information is based on only one male bird, my experiences may not be typical for this bird species.
